The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN) FCT Chapter said Cross River State Government has found the right man for the position of the Chief Press Secretary in Emmanuel Ogbeche, the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT.
Speaking on his appointment, chairman of the chapter, Bunmi Haruna described Ogbeche’s appointment as a round peg in a round hole because he possesses the qualities needed to make a difference in the position.
“During his stint as NUJ Chairman FCT Council, he distinguished himself as an outstanding leader who brought smiles to the faces of Abuja journalists and we believe Cross Rivers people will also enjoy his services.
“He is the best NUJ chairman in the history of the FCT council. We have no doubt that his wealth of experience is going to be magnificently beneficiary to the people of Cross Rivers State,” Haruna said.
SWAN also commended the executive governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, for the appointment, while also congratulating Ogbeche on his new assignment.
“We are happy for his appointment and wish him the best in his new assignment,” FCT SWAN said in a statement issued by the secretary,” Chris Onokpegu added.
