Villarreal chiefs have confirmed that Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze is planning to leave the club even though they have not gotten an offer for the former Golden Eaglets star.
Chukwueze’s contract at Villarreal is set to expire at the end of next season, and the Nigerian has refused to sign an extension fuelling rumours that he wants to leave.
Recently, Real Madrid were linked with Chukwueze, but the Super Eagles star rubbished the report claiming that he would not be moving to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Clubs like Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Arsenal are said to be tracking the Nigerian.
According to the reports on Sun and Soccernet, Villarreal CEO, Roig Negueroles, said the club would look at a good offer for the Nigeria star.
“It is true that Chukwueze is looking forward to playing for a big club in Europe or the Premier League. If an offer comes, we will sit down to Negotiate. But at the moment, we have not received any offer.
“Samuel is a fantastic guy who has been with us for many years. We know that he would like to play for a bigger club and if there is an opportunity this summer we will have to sit down and discuss it.
“But it will require a good offer to sell him, he still has one year left on his contract.”
