UEFA Champions League Quarter Final Second Leg Preview

By Olamide Akinnagbe

The UEFA Champions League Quarter final second round is here and promises to deliver some exciting matches as the competition enters the final stages. The highlight of the week is undoubtedly Chelsea vs Real Madrid and Bayern Munich vs Manchester City.

Chelsea vs Real Madrid (0:2):

Chelsea FC vs Madrid

The Blues have been in poor form this season, playing one of the worst football they have played in the last 2 decades.

They are currently in 11th position in the English Premier League and have lost their last 3 matches in all competition despite the recent appointment of club legend Frank Lampard.

Real Madrid on the other hand, have been in fine form in the Champions League this season despite their inconsistent form in Laliga. Defending Champion Real madrid would be hoping to win the UCL again this season to salvage what has been an inconsistent season for them.

Real Madrid are heavy favorite to progress to the next round of the competition after defeating Chelsea 2 to nil at the Santiago Bernabau last week in Spain but 2x Uefa Champions league winners Chelsea will be hoping for a miracle at their own stadium when they take on the most successful team in the Uefa Champions league today.

Bayern Munich vs Manchester City (0:3):

Bayern Munich and Manchester City have been two of the most consistent sides in Europe over the past few seasons. Bayern has won the Champions League twice in the last decade, while Manchester City will be hoping to win their first european title under Pep Guardiola.

Bayern Munich has been in fine form this season in the Champions league, winning 8 out of their last 9 matches in the competition with their only loss coming against City in the 1st leg last week.

Manchester City has also been formidable this season, winning their last 10 games in all competition. They have a solid defence and a potent attack spearheaded by the most inform striker in Europe right now Erling Haaland that is capable of causing any team problems.

This is a clash between two sides that have a winning mentality and have been ruthlessly efficient in front of goal. It promises to be a fascinating encounter, with Bayern Munich hoping to make a comeback after last week defeat.

H2H Last 10 seasons : Bayern Munchen 2-0-3 Manchester City Injuries and suspensions: Phil Foden (Injured)

Other fixtures happening this week include Napoli vs Ac Milan on Tuesday and Inter Milan vs Benfica on Wednesday.
