Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna state commissioner of internal security and home affairs, has debunked a false report by a media outlet of kidnapping along Abuja-Kaduna Highway.
In a statement on Friday 7 April, Aruwan said no such incident occurred on the highway which straddles five local government areas across Kaduna and Niger states.
The outlet claimed that armed men barricaded Kagarko-Jere road and kidnapped an unspecified number of people in two vehicles.
“The description which gives Kagarko town as being along Kaduna-Abuja highway is likewise incorrect” he stated.
