Incoming Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, does not want the West London club to sell midfielder Conor Gallagher this summer.
Pochettino wants Chelsea to rethink their plans to sell Gallagher and feels the England international can be one of four ‘instrumental’ players for him.
Gallagher has been something of a bit-part player at Chelsea this season, only starting 15 times in the Premier League – though he has scored three goals.
The 23-year-old enjoyed an excellent campaign on loan at Crystal Palace last season.
Chelsea has been widely expected to cash in on Gallagher, who has plenty of admirers around the Premier League.
But, despite needing to raise funds and cull a bloated squad, The Evening Standard reports that Pochettino does not want to lose Gallagher and will block his departure.
