PDP Rally rattles ruling APC in Nasarawa State, Party Summons meeting to re-strategised

The January 19th 2023 Grand  Governorship campaign rally of the opposition party, the PDP, has come and gone but reports says the huge turn out is  causing ripples amongst the chieftains of the ruling APC  in Nasarawa State.

According to source to Krest News online, among those the event rattled were Governor  Abdullahi Alhaji Sule, the National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the APC Senatorial candidate for Nasarawa North, Alhaji Danladi Umar Envulu’anza and the State Chairman, Chief John Mamman respectively.

Thousands of supporters of the PDP trooped out to welcome the gubernatorial candidate of the party Dr. David Umbugadu, who hails from Nasarawa Eggon.

Krest News source further said until the event, intense lobby and cash offers were reportedly made to keep people away from attending.

Confirm reports said that some traditional rulers and local APC chiefs were engaged to do anything that could halt the huge turn out.
Particularly, loyalists of some aspirants to the vacant tool of Aren Eggon were counseled to conspicuously stay away from the event if their principal’s aspirations were anything to get the state government endorsement.
This followed the destruction of the billboards of Dr. Ombugadu in Lafia, the State capital and some other towns by the state urban media agency.
All these baits failed to get results as thousands of Eggon youths, women, men and traditional worshippers turned out En-masse to showcase their cultural dancing in welcoming the PDP’s family to Nasarawa Eggon.

However, less than 48 hours after the successful rally, Senior APC officials were summoned to Keffi and Abuja for a stock review meeting.
We gathered that the APC National Chairman, Sen Abdullahi Adamu who presided over the meeting had lashed out at Alhaji Envulu’anza and other APC chiefs for not doing enough to rubbish the PDP rally.

The state APC chairman, Chief John Mamman was also not spared as over 500 members of his party from the area were lost to the PDP during the event.

Krest News reliably gathered that some of the decampees were detailed to be kept away from the reach of the PDP family but the deal wasn’t handled perfectly as planned.

A close source at the meeting told Krest News that the party’s National Chairman, Sen Adamu didn’t spare the Governor either as he believes money wasn’t released in good time to frustrate the PDP event.

“Rather than frustrating the PDP, the Governor was querying the Managing Director of Nasarawa State  Urban Development Board who ordered for the demolition of PDP and other parties billboards”, a source hinted.

According to Krest News sources, the APC review meeting recommended for a plan B particularly on how to harvest Eggon votes in the March Governorship election in the State.
