Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA have arrested 34-year-old South American man from the Northeastern coastal country of Suriname, Dadda Lorenzo Harvy Albert at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers state.
The suspect was caught with 117 parcels of cocaine concealed in extra-large latex condoms packed inside black plastic bottles of body spray. In a statement by NDLEA’s director of Media and and advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the suspect claimed to have arrived Nigeria in search of his long lost Nigerian father after departing Suriname on the 2nd of April and travelled through São Paulo Brazil before arriving Nigeria on Friday 7 April.
NDLEA officers also intercepted 110 parcels of Colorado, a strain of cannabis at Tincan seaport in Lagos. The illicit consignment came from Toronto via Montreal Canada and was part of a total of 1,559.3 kilograms (1.5 tons) of psychoactive substance seized in five states within the past week.
