Lamidi Apapa Escapes Lynching At Presidential Election Petition Tribunal

Agency Report

Lamidi Apapa, the factional leader of the Labour Party of Nigeria, narrowly escaped being lynched today at the presidential election petition tribunal.

In a viral video seen on social media, Apapa was seen being smuggled out of the court by a police operative as he was booed and called a thief by angry supporters of the Labour Party.

The incident occurred after the court earlier dismissed the names put forward as representatives of the party.

While others were speaking, Apapa stood up to identify himself as the chairman of the party.

The five-man panel of the court, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, expressed displeasure with the unfolding situation and made it clear that they would not recognize anyone claiming to represent the Labour Party.
