Holding A Snake Most Challenging Movie Role-Sunkanmi Fasasi

By SOLOMON NDA-ISAIAH

Actor Sunkanmi Fasasi has opened up on his most challenging movie role.

The role interpreter who is getting set to release his movie, ‘Ketu’ said:”My most challenging role so far would been when I had to play a role where I held a moving snake. I got to the film location and I was told by the production manager that I would be carrying live snake. I thought I would reject the role because I couldn’t imagine myself holding a dead snake not to talk of a live one. I easily get irritated and scared at the sight of reptiles. But I had to take that role because of my love for the art.The herpetologist assured me the snake wouldn’t bite and taught me how to handle it. I summoned courage and took the role. Now holding a live snake in a movie won’t be a challenge”

On how he desires to contribute to the growth of Nollywood, Fasasi said:”I see myself contributing to the growth of the industry by promoting and producing Quality movies that will impact both young and old . I also intend to create an enabling b environment for other young creatives that will also explore the industry and help it grow with innovative ideas”.

The talented actor also maintained that Yoruba movies help in the preservation of Yoruba culture.

“Yoruba movies have entertainment value, but it’s beyond that. The themes explored in the movies also help in the preservation of the culture”.
