Celebs, Firms Eulogize Peace Anyiam-Osigwe

 

Since the announcement of the death of the industry giant and founder of Africa Films Academy (AFA), Peace Anyiam Osigwe on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, the movie industry has been in mourning eulogizing the woman with the golden heart and passion for the growth of film industry in Africa.

Peace was said to have died after being a coma on Saturday, January 7, 2023. Organisers of Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive) eulogized Peace Maria Ogechi Anyiam-Osigwe, fondly known as ‘Queen of Nollywood’ as an extraordinarily talented creative and visionary leader who blessed the world with her gifts in writing, poetry, film, television, and so much more.

NECLive Convener, Ayeni Adekunle said, “Peace Anyiam-Osigwe was a true
visionary. The testimonials and tributes since her sad passing are a demonstration of how impactful her life and work were and the many industries, especially Nollywood, that she helped build. She was also an early supporter of NECLive and one of our most remarkable participants. Her passing has created a vacuum that will be difficult
to fill.”

President of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas Ejezie, said the deceased made significant contribution to the growth and development of the motion picture industry in Nigeria.

Actress and Vice President of Association Movie Producer (AMP), Queen Blessing Ebigieson said she was dumbfounded on the news. She said, “This was not the agreement, Madame President Peace Anyiam Osigwe MFR, my president and big sister, but who am I too question God.. @digitalpmoglobal in total submission to God almighty. It’s good night till we meet to part no more..one day”.

Yemi Amodu, chieftain of TAMPAN, said, “Peace Anyiam Osigwe was a strong woman among few others that I believe in. “You were my confidant, a problem solver and pathfinder to my course. It would be difficult to replace”.

CEO of ID Africa, owners of NECLive, Femi Falodun adds: “Peace Anyiam-Osigwe’s notable contributions to the development of the Nigerian film and entertainment sector will forever be remembered and lauded.”

Peace Anyiam-Osigwe was bestowed a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) by the Nigerian government for her contributions to the entertainment
industry.
