The Secretary to government of the federation, Sen. George Akume has over the weekend, Sunday 31st December,2023 attended the memorial anniversary, Ten Years Posthumous Anniversary of Late A.S. I. Peter Agada, father of the capacity APC chairman of Benue state, Comrade Austin Agada in Owukpa, Ogbadibo LGA.
The occasion which lasted for almost three days has drawn dignitaries, friends and acquiatances across the divide who witnessed the memorial celebration of an icon of peace, the late father of Benue APC chairman, Comr. Austin Agada.
The occasion features, church service at St Edward’s Parish Ukwo Owukpa Ogbadibo LGA Benue state. This is followed by the colorful reception at the late Agada’s compound and subsequent conferment of traditional title to the secretary to government of the federation, Sen. George Akume.
Speaking during the church service, Comrade Austin Agada, others who described the SGF as a real father to the fatherless, the only Lion in Benue Forest, political father of the North Central, had expressed joy and thanked Sen. Akume for his presence, and donation for the church restructuring and sacrifice to attend personally, despite the tight schedule , given the nature of his current assignment, engagement as a federal property.
During the reception, Onomo, Ad’ogbadibo, chief Emmanuel Odeh acknowledged the manner and love Sen. Akume has been demonstrating towards owukpa people, especially the one that cuminated to the emergence of Owukpa son as Benue APC Chairman, Comr. Austin Agada.
“The impact of your good relationship with owukpa people is more than that of a friend”.
“Today, we the people of owukpa has formally adopt you as a son, and decided to confer you with our traditional title as ‘Inalegu 1 Of Owukpa’, chief Emmanuel Odeh said on behalf of the owukpa council of chiefs.
High point of the occasion was the regalian dressing and conferment of traditional title to Sen. George Akume as owukpa son, ‘Inalegu 1 Of Owukpa’ by His Royal Highness, Ada’ Ogbadibo, Onomo, Chief Emmanuel Odeh, and subsequent distribution of palliative to widows, Owukpa people by the capacity APC chairman, Comr. Austin Agada.
The SGF, Akume thanked the entire community for finding him worthy. Promised to continue showing love and relate with Owukpa people in all ramifications.
