The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has stated has once again spoken about the highly controversial convention which produced Atiku Abubakar, as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Speaking earlier yesterday during activities to mark his 55th birthday, Wike insisted that if the primary election had gone according to the way it was supposed to without any external influence, he would’ve won the parties ticket.
He further revealed that despite it being his first time of running for president, he is happy with the impact that he was able to make.
He said: “I don’t regret I ran for presidency. I am happy to make Rivers proud as far I am concerned. If they had allowed it to be what it is supposed to be, I would have won the election. But it’s okay. It has happened. People said it’s because I lost election. It doesn’t matter. I didn’t lose election. This is my first time of trying to run for the presidency of Nigeria, and we made impact.”
